Closing the sale, sort of

We are closing this phase of the sale. I will mark the different paintings that were purchased with the name of the person who bought it. Hopefully we will receive pictures in the near future of where they will be situated. I will leave the other paintings up for sale for the time being so someone can fall in love with them. If you think a friend or acquaintance might be interested, please, pass on this blog. We will be collecting more pictures of Cordula's work as we go along.

Hello everyone we need a few more bids. I am going to run the auction a little longer until the middle of September and will post again on facebook and via email. Maybe after this terribly hot weather is over, everyone will feel more inspired.

Stay cool.

Introduction

Welcome to Cordula Volkening Gallery, an online exhibit and auction of 15 of Cordula's paintings.

Cordula, a German immigrant who lived in Brooklyn, died of brain cancer in May 2009 at age 52. In the last two years of her life, she made dozens of works of art. The paintings in this gallery were left unsold in her estate and will be sold thru this on-line gallery on behalf of her teenage children and their father.

Each work is listed with a minimum or current bid. Please e-mail bids to charlotte.mendelaar@gmail.com with a subject line of "Cordula bid." The sale will end mid-August.

The records will continuously be updated with the latest current bid. There will be additional shipping and packing charges if we need to ship a painting outside of New York.
